Larry Walker statue unveiled

Colorado unveiled a Larry Walker statue at Coors Field on August 23. Fifteen feet, eight hundred pounds, bronze, by George and Mark Lundeen.

The record it stands on:

17 seasons. A .313 career average, 383 home runs, 1,311 RBIs.

Three National League batting titles, in 1998, 1999 and 2001.

One MVP, in 1997.

Montreal from 1989 to 1994. Colorado from 1995 to 2004. St. Louis to finish.

One game worth pulling out: August 18, 1999. Two for four, two home runs, the second a three run walk-off.

Todd Helton's statue goes up September 19.
